Since i was there trying to solve the problem i think i saw some things that maybe others didn't, here is my report on some of the thing i found out.
The MM "was" a site with a good traffic and had several accounts/users and any hacker would love to get the emails to sell them or use them for spamming. Actually I got my old hotmail account hacked and it was used for spamming. i found out this when i received several notifications from undelivered mails... i changed my password and everything but it was too late and hotmail blocked my account, that hotmail wasnt my main account so i didnt care too much.
Yes, Chrome is reporting that the Mpire Mall infected Encore Mall (and other sites) with malware but honestly i think Google is over reacting with the whole situation. Yes, MM had some malware links but when i checked out Google Webmaster Tools report (few hours after the deletion) it said that there where 2 files with malicious code a .gif and an .ico... RIDICULOUS dont you think?, now the whole site is deleted and Google keeps reporting malware.
However yesterday i found out that the mpiremall URL was redirecting to a site with russian domain listed on the Chrome report as one of the sources for the infection. You have to deactivate all your protection the get this result, otherwise you will be redirected to google. So dont try it unless you know what you are doing or you are a dare devil like me ;D
The bottom line: the mall was attacked by hackers, that's the only explanation i find for all those awkward situations.
